Domed Ceilings.
Hand-formed domed and barrel-vaulted ceilings in plaster — radiused architectural features built on-site, not assembled from drywall.
What it is
Domed and barrel-vaulted ceilings demand a substrate built true to a radius and a plaster crew that can finish the curve without flat-spotting it. We frame, lath, and plaster domes on-site, and we coordinate with the lighting and trim trades so the final geometry hosts cove lighting, medallions, or fresco surfaces cleanly.
Smaller groin vaults, eyebrow ceilings, and apsidal niches use the same techniques at smaller scale.
Our process
From the first site visit to the final coat.
Every project follows a sequence — refined over thirty years and adapted to the substrate, climate, and finish system.

Domed Ceilings — frequently asked.
Can lighting be integrated into the dome?
Yes — we coordinate with the electrician on cove lighting, recessed fixtures, and medallion centers before the final coats go on.
