Lazar Stucco Inc.
Hand-applied lime-based exterior restoration project by Lazar Stucco.

About · Since 1995

Plaster, the way it has always been done.

Solo and Vali Lazar founded the firm in Atlanta in 1995. Three decades later, the method has not changed: hand-applied stucco and plaster on residential and commercial projects across the Southeast.

Our story

European stucco, applied here.

Solo and Vali Lazar trained in European stucco and plaster before founding the firm in Atlanta in 1995. The decision to build the company around lime, hand application, and properly detailed substrates was not a marketing position — it was the only way the work he had learned was meant to be done.

Thirty years later, the company has installed hand-applied finishes on hundreds of residential and commercial projects across the Southeast, including some of the region's most recognized custom homes. Our crews are senior, our methods are consistent, and the work that we did in the late 1990s on Atlanta exteriors is still in original condition.

We answer to architects, builders, and the homeowners they build for. The expectation we are held to is simple: the finish has to be right, the schedule has to hold, and the punch list at the end has to be short.

How we work

Four operating principles.

The standards have not shifted in thirty years. They are the reason our work outlasts the methods around it.

  • 01

    Mineral, breathable systems

Lime-based and cementitious systems are designed to manage moisture by drying outward — what European stucco has always done. We specify acrylic and synthetic systems only when they are truly the right choice for the project.

  • 02

    Hand-applied, not sprayed

Every finish that defines our work — Venetian, Marmorino, lime wash, intonachino, hand-troweled hard-coat — is applied by hand. The variation that hands produce reads as warmth; the uniformity that sprayers produce reads as a coating.

  • 03

    Samples before mobilization

Color, texture, and finish are signed off on an on-site sample panel before the crew arrives in volume. This is non-negotiable on residential and commercial work — it removes ambiguity about the finished product.

  • 04

    One crew, one finish

We do not subcontract our finish work. The same hands that apply your scratch coat apply your finish coat. It is the only way to guarantee consistency across an elevation.

Who we work with

Architects, builders, and homeowners.

Most residential work comes through architects and custom-home builders we have worked with for years. We provide shop drawings on substantial projects, on-site sample panels for finish approval, and we coordinate directly with the builder's superintendent through the full schedule.

Commercial work runs through general contractors and design firms — restaurants, retail, hospitality, healthcare, and historic restoration. References are available on request from active and recently completed projects.

Insurance and licensing are current and provided to every general contractor at project setup. We carry full general liability coverage appropriate for high-end residential and commercial work.
