Breathable Paint.
Vapor-permeable paints for lime, plaster, and masonry walls — keeps mineral substrates working as designed.
What it is
Breathable paint is engineered to allow vapor transmission while still providing color and weather resistance. Specified for lime stucco, brick, and historic masonry where conventional acrylic paint would trap moisture and accelerate substrate failure.
Our process
From the first site visit to the final coat.
Every project follows a sequence — refined over thirty years and adapted to the substrate, climate, and finish system.
- 01
Substrate audit
Confirm vapor profile and existing coatings.
- 02
Strip & repair
Remove existing impermeable coatings, repair substrate.
- 03
Two finish coats
Breathable finish brushed or rolled.
Common questions
Breathable Paint — frequently asked.
How is breathable paint different from regular exterior paint?
Permeability. Conventional acrylic exterior paint forms a vapor-tight film. Breathable paint allows moisture to pass through, which is essential on lime and masonry walls.
